When we speak of the Christianity of George Washington, we should clarify both what we mean and what we do not mean. We do not mean that George Washington was a modern-day evangelical. He did not shop at Family Christian Bookstores. He did not attend Wednesday evening church. He did not listen to Steve Green or Michael W. Smith. He did not have fifty Bible translations to read. He did not listen to Christian talk radio. [...]

Major Richard Winters served as the field officer and later the battalion commander over Easy Company, a division of the 101st Airborne during World War II. At the end of the book, Major Winters revealed his ten rules of leadership, which I have quoted below. May they serve as a call to Christian men to stand fast and quit ourselves like men unto leadership in the Army of Christ. (See I Corinthians 16:23.) [...]

How do fathers interact with their sons? How do they relate to them and teach them the most valuable lessons in life? Does it have to be done formally in a “classroom” setting or can it be done throughout the day from anywhere? Wherever I go I meet fathers who tell me how awkward it can be for them to handle these matters.

Why Christian Homeschool Families Are Being Targeted for Public Censure
Aha! They are here somewhere, I can feel it in my bones. There are children here, somewhere. This nose of mine has never failed me. And if there are children here my friend, you will die. . . . ha, ha, ha, ha!
Iremember the first time [...]

Sons see flaws in their fathers each day, and how they choose to respond to those flaws will shape their dispositions and character in profound ways that will have repercussions beyond their own lifetimes.
A few months ago, we looked into the life of Ted Turner, an influential media titan who eventually lost his entire empire along [...]

This morning The New York Times ran two interesting articles on their front page. What made the articles so particularly interesting was how they were arranged on the page: side-by-side. On the left column, the paper printed an article about the Vermont legislature’s override of the Governor’s veto (by one vote) so that the state [...]

In this culture that marginalizes men and lauds feminism, that extols epicene and sybarite characteristics in males, we continue to echo the Lord’s call to true masculinity in I Corinthians 16:13: “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong!”
In keeping with that call, I began several months ago in my [...]

Before ending the interview, the CNN anchor quoted Ephesians 5:21 and asked, “What about the text that says the man and the woman should submit to one another?”
In this audio clip, taken from Dr. Voddie Baucham’s message The Centrality of the Home in Evangelism and Discipleship, Dr. Baucham answers that very question! This CD message [...]

The following is a poem dedicated to my recently born niece.
I now have a niece,
Whose name is Reese.
She popped out of her mommy all in one piece,
And before she knew it, she was wrapped in a fleece!
What will become of my niece Reece all in one piece, wrapped in a fleece?
Will she possess peace
In our [...]

“Endure thou therefore hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man who warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier” II Timothy 2:3-5.
With these words God sets the framework for how the Christian is to view his life. We [...]
