Booklist

“The cloke that I left at Troas with Carpus, when thou comest, bring with thee, and the books, but especially the parchments.” II Timothy 4:13

“You will be the same person you are today a year from now except for the people you meet and the books you read!” Charlie “Tremendous” Jones

Welcome to the booklist. Here you will find a list of books I am reading or have read. Each one has been selected to equip me as a soldier of Christ. Many of them were recommended to me by my father or other mentors and friends. Some of these books were written with a non-Christian worldview, and require careful discernment, but all of them contain elements that may benefit a mature Christian young person.

Many books I read for the purpose of placing a gauge on modern culture, its new ideas, its needs, its deceptions, and its affect on the Church. These books are not studied for the purpose of inculcation, but rather for the purpose of being able to better respond to the needs and dangers of the day.

Never in reading a book should one remove his thinking cap. Only the Word of God is infallible and every book must be tested by the truth of that book. Book reading should be an exercise in being a Berean, urging us to search the Scriptures to see if the things we have learned are so. (See Acts 17:11.)

Please feel welcome to use the comments section for suggesting, discussing, and inquiring about books. Keep checking back for updates. Also, for more information on a specific book, click on the title link to be directed to Amazon.comBooksChristian.com, or Vision Forum.

Reading must precede writing. Reading must precede any great achievement. One cannot write with wisdom if he has not been feeding, thinking, and challenging himself with the thoughts of others, especially of our Lord Jesus Christ. Not all books are beneficial to read, for as Ecclesiastes 12:12 says, “of making many books there is no end.”

This list does not include books I use as frequent references in study and research, have only read portions of, or have been reading off and on for longer than six months. It especially does not include any law books I may have read/am reading.

God bless your reading!

Nathaniel
